The meeting took place on the sidelines of an international conference hosted by China to promote Xi's initiative to expand regional connectivity along and beyond the ancient Silk Road trade routes. The discussions of the two presidents also followed North Korea's early morning launch of another ballistic missile in defiance of international sanctions and warnings.
